Sequenom gibt europäischen Lizenzvertrag mit GATC-Tochter LifeCodexx bekannt
San Diego, Kalifornien / Konstanz, Deutschland – Sequenom, Inc. (NASDAQ: SQNM), ein Life-Sciences-Unternehmen, das innovative Lösungen im Bereich der Genomanalytik anbietet, hat heute seine Zusammenarbeit mit der LifeCodexx AG, einer Gesellschaft mit Schwerpunkt auf der Entwicklung klinisch validierter Molekulardiagnostik der nächsten Generation für den kommerziellen Einsatz von pränatalen Labortests in Europa, bekanntgegeben. Die beiden Unternehmen haben sich auf eine Kooperation bei der Entwicklung und Einführung eines im Labor entwickelten Tests auf Trisomie 21 und weiterer Aneuploidie-Testverfahren in Deutschland, Österreich, der Schweiz und Liechtenstein verständigt, wobei auch die Möglichkeit einer Einführung in weiteren Ländern angedacht ist.
Der Vertragsschluss mit LifeCodexx ist der Anfang der ersten kommerziellen Partnerschaft von Sequenom in Europa auf dem Gebiet der nichtinvasiven Pränataldiagnostik. Mit diesem ersten Fünfjahreslizenzvertrag hat Sequenom LifeCodexx Lizenzen an grundlegenden Patentrechten eingeräumt, unter anderem an dem Europa-Patent EP0994963B1 und der Patentanmeldung EP2183693A1, wodurch die Entwicklung und der kommerzielle Einsatz eines nichtinvasiven Aneuploidie-Testverfahrens mit zirkulierender, zellfreier DNA des Fötus im mütterlichen Plasma ermöglicht wird. Gemäß dem Vertrag wird LifeCodexx an Sequenom bestimmte Zahlungen im Vorfeld und minimale jährliche Lizenzgebührzahlungen leisten sowie Lizenzgebühren für den Absatz von Test Dienstleistungen erbringen.
